Bio: William Troy Donahoo, MD is the Medical Director for the Medical Weight Management Program and the Physician Co-Lead of the Specialized Nutrition Support Service at Kaiser Permanente Colorado. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Southern Colorado, and his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency and Endocrinology Fellowship at the University of Colorado. Prior to his role in the Kaiser Permanente Weight Management Program, he was an Assistant Professor of Endocrinology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and also at the University of Vermont. He has conducted research aimed at understanding the physiological mechanisms of weight regulation and the interaction between physiological weight regulation and behavior. He has published over fourty articles and chapters on obesity, weight management, and cholesterol management. He is currently an investigator on two studies funded by AHRQ to evaluate the comparative effectiveness of systems and interventions in obese patients who have undergone bariatric surgery and in women with gestational diabetes.
