Applications are invited to apply for the position of a Clinical Fellowship in Clinical Nutrition and Bariatric Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the University of Alberta.

The successful applicant will be expected to work in the adult bariatric clinic and within the clinical nutrition program. The adult bariatric clinic, located at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, is an interdisciplinary tertiary-care clinic that sees over 1,000 new patients a year and offers a full complement of behavioural, medical and surgical obesity treatments. Clinical nutrition programs in Capital Health and at the University of Alberta include well developed nutrition support services, large interdisciplinary home enteral and home parenteral nutrition programs, a multivisceral transplant program servicing Western Canada. The applicant will also be expected to do a minimum of eight (8) weeks of service on the Clinical Teaching Unit and will have the opportunity to participate in bariatric research and teaching within the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.

Interested applicants must hold an MD or equivalent, be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta and have a fellowship in the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent.

Remuneration for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be based on the income scale of a competitive and highly successful alternate funding plan. The competition will remain open until the position is filled.
