- Dewey KG, Peerson JM, Brown KH, et al. Growth of breastfed infants deviates from current reference data: A pooled analysis of U.S., Canadian, and European Data Sets. Pediatrics 1995;96: 495. Data from 7 longitudinal studies of infant growth in North America and northern Europe were pooled and compared to WHO/CDC references demonstrating that breastfed infants exhibit a different growth pattern from formula fed infants, suggesting the need for new reference data for infant growth charts
